  • February 27–March 3, 2019: nightly presentation of  Southern Specter at the Los Angeles County Arboretum as part of "Digital Nature 2019," a multi-disciplinary exhibition of site-specific art works that address the evolving relationship of the natural world and technology. Curated by Shirley Watts' Natural Discourse project.
  • Performance of Chatterbox with Birds on a Wire new music ensemble at Western Michigan University. Spring, schedule TBA
  • Since August 2018: Visiting faculty appointment at Western Michigan University, teaching private composition lessons to undergraduate and master's students as well as undergraduate and graduate courses in music theory and analysis.
  • Artist-in-Residency: I-Park in East Haddam, CT, from June 20–July 16.

Recent Events

  • Behind the Back was awarded Finalist recognition in the ASCAP/SEAMUS Student Commissioning Program for Behind the Back. Hong-Hong Hui performed the piece at the 2018 SEAMUS National Conference at the University of Oregon.
  • Behind the Back has been released on The Little Giant Chinese Chamber Orchestra's latest CD with Albany Records, Crossings: Contemporary Music for Chinese Instruments.  Click here for details.
