August 2018 — May 2019: Visiting faculty appointment at Western Michigan University, teaching private composition lessons to undergraduate and master's students as well as undergraduate and graduate courses in music theory, advanced analysis, and the aesthetics of electroacoustic music.

February 27–March 3, 2019: nightly presentation of Southern Specter at the Los Angeles County Arboretum as part of "Digital Nature 2019," a multi-disciplinary exhibition of site-specific art works that address the evolving relationship of the natural world and technology. Behind the Back was awarded Finalist recognition in the ASCAP/SEAMUS Student Commissioning Program for Behind the Back. Hong-Hong Hui performed the piece at the 2018 SEAMUS National Conference at the University of Oregon.
