Future of Fashion is a sound installation commissioned by the Neiman Marcus Corporation to commemorate the 100th-year anniversary of the company. The music was written to accompany an in-house exhibit at the flagship store in downtown Dallas. Famous designers from around the world, such as Giorgio Armani, Valentino, and Christian Louboutin, were invited to submit designs they felt were predictive of next one hundred years of high fashion and the Neiman Marcus brand. In composing the piece, I drew inspiration from fashion sketches provided by the designers and computer-renderings of the department store’s beautiful and futuristic visual concept for the eventual exhibit, which included sparkling crystal prisms, glass chandeliers, countless mirrors, and radiant lighting.
